Job Context
The position will be responsible for overseeing all inventory management, warehousing, and storage operations across multiple sections, including FMCG, Eyewear, Pharmacy, Hardware, IT Products & Accessories, Coffee & Juice Bar and Restaurant & Convention. This role requires excellent organizational and leadership skills to ensure the effective and efficient flow of goods from suppliers to shelves, maintaining inventory accuracy and optimizing storage space in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
A) Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels for all sections to ensure product availability without overstocking.
- Regularly conduct stock counts and audits to verify inventory accuracy, minimizing discrepancies.
- Implement inventory control procedures to track product movements, avoid stock loss, and reduce wastage.
- Utilize inventory management software to log incoming and outgoing products and generate reports.
B) Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the organization and storage of goods in the warehouse, ensuring efficient use of space and easy retrieval.
- Supervise loading, unloading, and timely placement of products in respective sections.
- Ensure that storage conditions meet regulatory and product-specific standards, particularly in the pharmacy and food sections.
- Coordinate with section heads or outlet incharge to arrange for timely replenishment of items from the warehouse to the sales floor.
C) Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to arrange deliveries and maintain regular communication for order placements.
- Work closely with section heads or outlet incharge to forecast product demand and plan procurement schedules.
- Verify and inspect incoming shipments for quality and accuracy, reporting any issues to vendors or outlet incharge or honorable management authority (if necessary).
- Negotiate with suppliers for delivery schedules.
D) Team Management
- Lead and manage warehouse staff, assigning daily tasks, ensuring adherence to operational procedures, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Train warehouse and inventory team members in stock handling, safety protocols, and software use.
- Ensure proper staffing levels for the warehouse and storage areas, especially during high-demand periods.
E) Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all products, especially in the pharmacy and food sections are stored according to legal and health standards (e.g., temperature-controlled environments, hygiene standards).
- Maintain the security of the warehouse by enforcing proper safety and security measures, including access control and monitoring of storage areas.
- Oversee disposal of expired or damaged products following company and legal guidelines.
F) Stock Optimization & Loss Prevention
- Implement best practices for stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize wastage, particularly in the FMCG, pharmacy and food sections.
- Identify trends in slow-moving or fast-moving items and adjust stock levels accordingly.
- Develop and maintain strategies to prevent theft, damage, or loss of inventory across the outlet.
G) Reporting & Data Management
- Generate regular reports on stock levels, order status and any discrepancies for outlet incharge review.
- Track and report key metrics, such as inventory turnover, stockouts, and order fulfillment rates.
- Ensure accurate data entry and timely updates in the inventory management system.
