COO (Chief Operating Officer)

Job Description

The COO will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring that all business units are aligned with the overall strategic direction of the company. This position will be instrumental in driving the growth of the company and improving its operational efficiencies of the companies.

Responsibilities

  • The Chief Operating Officer shall report directly to the company's Board and execute decisions made by the Board. The Chief Operating Officer shall be entitled to attend the Board's deliberation of matters about the management of the company and share their views concerning that.
  • Work closely with investment professionals and portfolio company leadership teams to plan, appraise, and drive performance improvement of Group portfolio companies, and provide due diligence capabilities in new deals, scope, and size potential post-deal opportunities.
  • Act as the principal spokesperson in maintaining and engaging a broad cross-section of stakeholders, including investors, analysts, governments, and communities. Effectively prepare for and represent the company in any media or community relations matters or legal proceedings arising from business operations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of finance professionals following a period of significant turnover, restoring operational excellence; improved forecast accuracy and met the challenge of turning around the Group Finance Division to focus on compliance, financial stability, audit integrity, and productivity increases.
  • Drive cross-functional turnaround programs including process redesign, cost reduction, strategic decision, system upgrade, talent management, and other performance improvements.
  • Develop and implement yearly plans - including milestone-driven detailed operating plans and provisions, and management information services for strategic decisions - that focus on successfully integrating Group portfolio companies to build a foundation for operational and financial success.
  • Formulate and implement the mission, policy, objective, and strategic plan to ensure the company's growth plans across all distribution channels, including B2B, B2C, and Digital Marketing, leveraging a very strong execution and business development experience in the related industry to ensure that the company is consistently moving towards fulfilling its short-term, medium-term, and long-term objectives.
  • Lead group financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and vare analysis, formulation, and review of financial management policies and procedures, treasury and cash management, internal control, and compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Systematically plan for the development, retention, and continuity of teams that are capable of achieving long-term sustainable growth. Ensure that a succession plan for key critical positions is in place for business continuity. Effectively communicate with all employees to keep them enthused and motivated to achieve the goals of the company.
  • Strengthen the institutional foundation by ensuring that the company is a process-driven organization. Instill in the team a robust process orientation, such that all decisions are made based on structured processes. Additionally, develop a reset and analytics team that provides the management with good structure and analyzed data for informed decision-making.
  • Partner with Executive Management, Board, Business & IT to develop the annual financial business plan to gain buy-in & lead company acquisitions, management buyouts or buy-ins, and corporate restructuring.
  • Work for Anti-Money Laundering & Combating Financing of Terrorism (AML & CFT) activities and keep a record of any suspicious transactions found.
  • Establish satisfactory risk systems and control procedures for all assets under management that meet defined standards, including systems for the management of market, credit, counterparty, and operational risks, valuation, and measurement of returns.
  • Develop a sound strategy on matters concerning changes in the acquisition/investment strategy, including new asset types to be included, investment/acquisition risk, benchmark with the market leader and other players in the market, investment limits, and other operating parameters for the acquired assets under management.
  • Prepare a plan to recover the Negative Equity Portfolio, Dealer Code Portfolio, and strategic investment for the Legal Authority (like BSEC, BB) and report the same accordingly.
  • To adopt Rules & Regulations: SEC Rules and regulations-1987, Stock dealer, Stockbroker & Authorized Representatives-2000, Settlement of Stock Exchange Transactions Regulations-1998, Depository user Regulations-2003
  • Any Other Job assigned by the Board of Directors.

Education

  • BBA/MBA (Financia/Accounts) with professional qualifications (CA/CMA/CS/CIMA/ACCA) will be given additional advantages.
